Some 53 entries have so far been shortlisted for the 2011 Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards, representing some of Scotland's finest food and drink products and businesses.
The winners will be unveiled at an awards ceremony at the Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro Hotel on Thursday 26 May. Guests will enjoy a special menu designed by renowned Scottish chef, Nick Nairn and the event will be hosted by a mystery compère from the food and drink world.
2011 marks the fifteenth year of the Excellence Awards which are jointly organised by the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland and Scotland Food & Drink.
Still to be announced is the shortlist for the Young Scottish Chef of the Year which will crown Scotland's best young chef. Shortlisted entrants will participate in a cook-off in front of a panel of high profile judges including chef Martin Wishart to demonstrate not only their skills but their passion for Scottish ingredients.
Many of the winners of the Highlands & Islands Food and Drink Awards and the Grampian Food Forum Innovation Awards were automatically shortlisted for this year's Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards.
