SPAR Promotes Local Food

22 December 2011
The SPAR store in Drymen, Stirlingshire, has joined forces with a local butcher to help offer shoppers the best possible produce from local suppliers.
The newly-formed partnership between SPAR Drymen and Edenmill Farm forms part of a trial taking place across CJ Lang Ltd stores in Scotland.
The Drymen outlet is the third test store to adopt the idea of promoting produce from a local butcher.
While the trial is still in its infancy, early indications suggest that it could be rolled out to company-owned and independent SPAR stores throughout Scotland in the future.
This initiative forms part of SPAR Scotland's wider strategy to enhance the reputation of SPAR convenience stores to provide a fresh food offering that rivals the multiples.
