Calmac Briefings

08 March 2011
CalMac Ferries Ltd (CalMac), in partnership with Scotland Food & Drink, is hosting a series of Buyer Briefings over the next few weeks. The dates and locations are: 24th March, Greenock; 29th March, Oban; and 31st March, Stornoway 2011.
Date:
This is a unique opportunity to meet the leading ferry operator to the west coast and Clyde Estuary.
CalMac is tendering the main food categories (frozen, chilled and grocery, including butcher meat, fruit and vegetables) within the next two or three months and would like to meet potential primary producers and wholesalers to explain a number of key issues including:
* Requirements of the tendering process
* Logistics in supplying to CalMac, both from a retail and catering perspective
* Avenues open to primary producers that wish to supply to CalMac via a tendering process
* Bring primary producers and intermediaries together to explore how they could best meet a tender process
The event will offer invaluable insight into CalMac's procurement process, for 'local'producers and intermediaries alike. 'Local' in this context is defined as producers and intermediaries that are based in Scotland with products in the above categories.
Buyer Briefings will be held in the following three locations:
* 24th March - The Tontine Hotel, Greenock @ 9.30am-12 noon
* 29th March - The Corran Halls, Oban @ 1.30hpm-4pm
* 31st March - Stornoway (venue tbc) @ 9.30ham-12 noon
The event will be led by Andrew Collier, retail operations manager. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and for networking. Refreshments will be provided.
There will be no charge for attending this event but please note that as numbers are limited up to only two places per company can be allocated. Early booking highly recommended.
