Lewis Lamb Grading And Butchery Demonstration

October 13, 2009 to October 14, 2009

October 13th - Lewis & Harris Auction Mart, Stenish, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis

October 14th  - Stornoway Abattoir, Rigs Rd, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis

These events each take place in the evening (times to be confirmed) and are delivered by QMS and the C2 collaboration project. They aim to help farmers better understand the supply chain.

October 13th - Lewis and Harris Auction Mart

This will feature a hoof lamb grading course with Bryan Robb and a workshop which aims to help farmers maximise performance so they can get the best from the genetics they select. This will be delivered by Rod McKenzie. QMS Scottish Sheep Strategy.

October 14th - Stornoway Abattoir

This will involve evaluating the carcasses which were graded the previous evening and a butchery demonstration. This will enable those attending to see the amount of saleable meat and fat/wastage from each carcass and the impact this has on the abattoir, the butcher and on the payment to the farmer.

Times will be posted here when they are available
